Course Description:
This first-day of the training is designed to sensitize participants about to take the EMDR training to the importance of attachment and dissociation in their development as trauma-informed therapists.
EMDR, attachment awareness and ego state/”parts” training form the “trauma triangle.” The ClearPath model of EMDR holds that the EMDR training is best taught within an attachment and dissociation-informed milieu. To this end, we are introducing this first-day prelude to the EMDR training that addresses attachment and dissociation/parts work.
The intention is to sensitize the participants to the vital role both attachment and dissociation play throughout all phases of the EMDR model while they are learning and practicing EMDR as a psychotherapy.
The next 7 days train participants in Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) which is an effective and efficient method of treating traumatic memories and related problems. This program has no “parts” or “levels.” This is the complete EMDR training as defined by the EMDR International Association (EMDRIA). and is a hands-on clinical skills training for using EMDR and integrating it with your psychotherapy approach. This program is designed to help participants learn when and how to use EMDR and to gain competency with EMDR over a period of several months. The training program involves lecture, demonstration, in-class practice, and on-the job practice with your clients. This is an experiential training, including practice with other participants.
The final follow up day (December 2, 2022) consists of: Six consultation hours during which each trainee presents a case formulation and a video demonstrating their use of EMDR.
Course Objectives:
Day 1: The Trauma Triangle
